Pinball Wizard

Smashed up pinball machine, off Hardman Street. Terrible waste – I definitely would have had it!

Experiment with textures – trying to bring something a bit different to an often photographed scene.

Reflection of the Royal Insurance building in office building opposite, North John Street. This is probably my favourite of all the photos I have taken.

Banksy graffiti on the corner of Berry Street and Duke Street in Chinatown – depending on who you ask, this is either a rat or a cat. Cool either which way and one of the first things the council covered up at the start of Capital of Culture year (not for long thankfully, the irony was soon pointed out.)

Graffiti on Seel Street – the smell from the rubbish here was unholy, a horrible mix of rubbish, sick and stale beer. Very quick snap and move.

Graffiti on Cropper Street, which is an unusual street as it seems quite quiet and then 10 black cabs hurtle through at severe speed – apparently it’s a well known taxi shortcut.

Silcocks Funland in Southport – taken on a ferociously windy autumn day, this was as far from a fun day as I can think of but the arcade was still open and people were still visiting and sitting outside, sipping at coffee. This photo reminds me of seaside towns up and down Britain.
