Calderstones Park has lots of these lovely big old trees - it's great to live near somewhere like the park and be able to see the changes that happen to the trees through the year.
This umbrella had been discarded in Calderstones Park - the city's parks descend into complete chaos at the first sign of any snow. Madness but it makes for great photo opportunities.
I like the dampening effect that fog has on the surrounding area when taking photos – it was so quiet it was eerie. Bitterly, bitterly cold day.

The Red Arrows performing at the Southport Air Show, 2009. The aircraft at the show vary from year to year but it's always worth going if you know this lot are on - their display is always nothing short of incredible.
The walkway around the marine lake, West Kirby. It's a great place to go if you need to clear your head - it's very windy and exposed. As you can see in this photo, you can see for miles, all the way down the Welsh coast. I try to get over at least once a month, it's one of my favourite places to take photos.
